Fun with color

I took a break from The Creative License lessons and just had some fun with color. I found a round art sponge, mixed up some watercolor paint, and just had at it. Unfortunately, my scanner isn't all that large so some of the image got cut off. Also, the bottom layer of blue is actually purple! Art meets technology...

It was relaxing and fun and carefree. I just threw the color on the paper. No design in mind, no direction, no purpose. What came out was a surprise, and a pleasant one at that!

Love it! 'Purposeful play' as artist John Cage would say :)

Hiya,

That's a good idea to just have some fun with no direction. Maybe I'll try that soon even though what I really need is more discipline! I love the colours in your painting. They are so happy.

I like going back and forth between pencil, pen and ink, and color. Love to mix it up and keeps me from getting in a rut. Wonder what fun it would be to step in pain and walk on paper for a bit? LOL.
