Time is ticking away...

I started drawing a watch and the next thing I knew, a television box took shape around it. It just reminded me of how many hours, days, weeks, months, and years that we allow ourselves to be sucked into the idiot box when we could be playing, drawing, painting, creating, loving, and living. And time lost today is time we never get back.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for visiting my site again.

Your comments about T.V. are exactly why my house does not have cable. We have a TV and DVD player and a large collection of DVD's but we also do artwork, play music, talk, read, etc. It seems when we had cable and regular TV it was too easy to just veg out and not do anything else.

I've been wondering what I will draw to the EDM challenge of Draw your favorite TV show, since I don't have one.

I like how your sketch eventually traveled back in time too—started with the digital watch and ended up with some very analog rabbit ears. :-D

Thanks for the nice comments!

true, true...it's kind of brain-wash.
I got rid of my TV set three years ago and I've noticed how much more time I gained:)

and I like your drawing - step back in time:)

Hey Mark, I came over from Katie's blog where I found that you had visited after clicking 'next blog'.
I did that once and found some rather nasty sites popping up and reported to blogger. They told me that they have no control over the blogs that come up through that link and that it has nothing to do with blogger. You were lucky to get a nice blog.
I agree with TV being a waste of time. Whenever I sit in front of it all I do is click up and down looking for ? Anyway, it wastes lots of time. Nothing much on anyway.
Keep drawing and creating :D

I love how you started with a watch and allowed it to morph into something else. Love the old-fashioned look of the tv, too. So true what you say about tv, although the internet is fast becoming the new tv for me, in terms of being a time hog. I can justify it to myself because I'm learning new things and expanding my horizons, but the time I spend on the computer could be time spent drawing, doing papier mache, writing, etc.
